My husband and I are, in fact, awkward people. You know the type. The ones who don’t really know what to say, never take good pictures, and throw up a thumbs up or a peace sign when someone says, “Let me take a picture!” So, when we got engaged and it came time to find a photographer, we had one priority: someone who would make us comfortable. That search is what led us to Grace, a Nebraska wedding and family photographer who instantly felt like the right fit.
We found Grace back in 2021, the summer before we got married. I scoured Instagram for Nebraska wedding photographers and found her. Her profile and website screamed easy-going, Christ-loving, and down-to-earth. I hit that “Inquire Here” button real quick.

Four years later, Grace has now photographed our engagement, our wedding, and our first-ever family photos. I’ve had the honor of becoming her friend and watching her build her business into something truly incredible.

Our Engagement Session
When we first met Grace, we were both nervous. Harrison and I are major introverts and are about as camera-shy as you could get. We had never done professional photos together before and truly had no idea what to expect.
Grace walked us through finding the best spot for photos, helped us create the perfect wardrobe, and made sure we had everything we needed to be comfortable. She put us instantly at ease and made it clear her top priority was creating images that felt like us.
In the late summer, we found ourselves out at my family’s farm. My happy place. She won the hearts of my grandparents as she greeted them, gushed over their land, and helped Harrison and me to feel comfortable and confident.
She laughed with us, gave us little prompts that felt natural, and somehow captured photos that didn’t just look like us, but felt like us, too
By the end of the session, we weren’t just comfortable, we were genuinely having fun. I remember thinking, If she can make us feel this relaxed, I can’t wait to see what a Nebraska wedding and family photographer like her does with our wedding day!!
Our Wedding Day
As fate would have it, Grace couldn’t be at our wedding because she was standing beside her best friend on that very same day. But she made sure we were in the best hands by sending a member of her team, who was absolutely incredible.
Before the big day, we met with Grace multiple times. She helped us create a timeline, which, trust me, I needed!! She calmed our nerves, recommended vendors, and hyped us up for the big day.
From the moment her associate arrived, she fit seamlessly into the day. She captured the big, important moments, but also those little in-betweens that make wedding photos so special. After the wedding, she sent them off to Grace for editing, and within just a few days, we had our sneak peeks! Grace’s style and heart still shone through, even though she wasn’t physically there. That’s a testament to how well she leads and trains her team as a Nebraska wedding and family photographer.
Our Family Session
Fast-forward a few years, and now we have a wiggly 9-month-old, which makes family photos a whole new adventure. I’ve stayed in touch with Grace over the years, and she has become a good friend, so she was an OBVIOUS choice for family pictures.
I decided to do the session at our home. My dad had painted Matthew’s nursery, and we were getting ready for a big cross-country move. I couldn’t leave without some pictures of us in our cozy little Omaha home. Our walls, our colors, our everyday life — all the little details that make this chapter ours.
The whole morning was bright, colorful, and completely us. Grace captured it all: the sunlight spilling through the windows, Matthew’s inquisitive stare as the camera clicked, and the sweet in-between moments we didn’t even notice happening. Grace encourages collaborating with her before sessions and getting inspired on Pinterest, it really made all of my ideas come to life! From the colorful wardrobe, to the painting, to the through the window pictures, my Pinterest worthy dreams came true!
We painted together, made a little (okay, a big) mess, and she caught us being us in every moment. Harrison played the guitar while Matthew giggled at his dad. Grace didn’t just photograph the scene. She caught the joy, the movement, the love, and the chaos, all woven together.
When I look at those images now, I see more than a pretty family portrait. I see our life as it is, colorful, a little messy, full of music and laughter, and beautiful. And I know years from now these photos will feel even more precious.

Looking back at all the sessions we’ve had with Grace, I see more than beautiful images. I see trust. I see comfort. I see someone who’s been there for the biggest moments of our lives, camera in hand, telling our story with so much care.
